Hey Doug,

Was wanting to post about this a while back, but couldn't find a good place to. Thanks for this post!

I wanted to tell you that one of the books on your list is available for free in pdf here:
http://www.desiringgod.org/ResourceLibrary/OnlineBooks/ByTitle/2481_The_Supremacy_of_Christ_in_a_Postmodern_World/

I dunno if you can be bothered to read a pdf book, but if you are, you just got a book from the wishlist. The book is based on the conference of the same name and the talks (which the chpaters are based on) can be found on the Desiring God website (the conference was in 2006).

There are also loads of books by Piper and Desiring God from that website.

enjoy,
Luke

That link didn't work so great.

Try here.

Now to answer your question.

Hmmm. There are far too many I think. At the moment,
- Calvin's institutes
- RC Sproul Holiness of God

Real question is where would I find the time to read them all!

cheers luke, thanks for the link

i read holiness, by JC Ryle, which was great, and institutes are set summer reading - so i'll tick those off (i know i know sproul ≠ ryle, but what's a couple of hundred years between friends with limited time!)

the good thing about Calvin (like Barth) is you can read sections at a time, you don't have to read the whole thing. Also, you can read (the old translation) online, ccel has a tonne of public domain stuff (along with gutenberg et al), if you haven't discovered it already

cheers for dropping by - i can add you to my reader now!
